Kamalpokhari: Jewel that is resting since generations.
Kamal Pokhari, meaning “lotus pond,” is a well-known pond in Bhaktapur, Nepal with historic, religious and cultural values. It’s right next to Lord Ganesh’s Kamal Binayak Temple. The pond is one of the oldest and traditional ponds not just in Bhaktapur but in all over Nepal.
Bhaktapur has been acclaimed by heritage campaigners, historians, and water heritage conservationists as an example of how legacy should be protected in the face of growing urbanization. Despite the increasing degradation of water heritages in Kathmandu Valley, Kamal Pokhari has always stood as a hope of how urbanization and preservation can be done hand by hand. Kathmandu, Patan, Thimi and Kirtipur should learn a lot from the city’s attempts to revitalize its ponds and cultural places.
The Box Hub is located in the North East face of the pond where you can enjoy the majestic view of the pond while enjoying cuisines of different type. The terrace at The Box Hub should be your ultimate destination to enjoy the view.
